Meet Crystal T. Henry

Crystal T. Henry is a contemporary Haudenosaunee/Anishinaabe artist living in Akwesasne, St. Regis Mohawk Reservation. Crystal graduated from SUNY Oswego M.A.T. in Art Edu. B.F.A in Graphic Design and obtained an A.F.A in 2-D Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts. In 2006, Crystal married Richard “Terry” Chrisjohn. To be a stay-at-home Mom of five, she started the website, “Chrisjohn Arts” to highlight her artwork and hobbies, as well as her husband’s work. Her husband is also an artist, he enjoys sculpting, carving and jewelry. Together, they have a variety of items that they create, from art prints, greeting cards, jewelry, and sculpture.

In 2008, Crystal and Terry began selling at various events such as pow wows, festivals, and conferences. They demonstrate and hold workshops in the US and Canada. Crystal’s workshops include beadwork, dreamcatchers, and cornhusk dolls. Terry has assorted topics that he demonstrates on, such as, the usage of elm bark, Haudenosaunee carvings, and the formation of the Iroquois Confederacy.
